Studio Workshop Images 22/09/24 from our Introduction to Studio Lighting Workshop
I’m happy to share some Studio Workshop Images from the 22/09/24. It’s always super fun on these workshops, everyone works well together to get their shots. We went through high key and low key set ups, lighting patterns for portraits and experimented with a single light source too.
Here are some behind the scenes shots that Arkwright’s Photography took on the day. I think they really capture the spirit of our workshops:

How gorgeous are these below polished shots also taken by Arkwright’s Photography?. I adore the leopard print leotard with the ivory style necklace and the gold detail. We lit the black background subtly lit to give some depth to the image and separation from the dark outfit and hair against the background. The lighting set up looks great when converted to black and white, especially with the contrast in the shot.

Does this sound like something you would like to do? Learn how to use the studio for portraits by signing up for a one to one with Gem. We hire a model (or you can bring a friend!) to help you learn about lighting patterns for faces. You will learn about high key set ups, great for photographing kids and fashion. Then low key lighting setups for moodier shots, think 1950’s Hollywood Portraits with lots of lovely contrast and shadows. You will use your particular camera in the studio, helping you to better understand your camera settings and functions.
Join us at our studio based in Wellington, Somerset. Explore our wide range of background colours and light modifiers to craft your portrait photos with beautiful lighting and beautiful company.
